Making Connections Through Music
"The true beauty of music is that it connects people. It carries a message, and we, the musicians, are the messengers." - Roy Ayers
Musical Connections connects live performance with the history behind the music, delving into the composers' lives and works. Our lecture recital program focuses on a particular composer or theme and includes a discussion at the end of the program to engage the audience, encouraging them to ask questions and to share their personal connections to the music.
Music bonds us together. From our earliest memories to special occasions, music is there, helping us to come together as a community. In several scientific studies it has been shown that listening to music directly impacts neuro-chemicals in the brain, many of which play a role in closeness and connection.
It is our hope that our lecture recital series Musical Connections will connect music, history, and communities with our performances!
