Why Intern with Creative OPERAtions?

As a small nonprofit, Creative OPERAtions offers interns a unique, hands-on experience. Although this is an unpaid volunteer position, you'll work directly with the Founder and Artistic Director, gaining insight into all aspects of running a community-focused arts organization. Unlike large nonprofits, where interns are often limited to one department, here you’ll contribute meaningfully across production, outreach, marketing, and event planning. Your ideas will matter, your work will have real impact, and you'll build direct connections with artists, partners, and the community. This is a chance to grow, lead, and create with purpose.

Development Intern

Creative OPERAtions is seeking a motivated Development Intern to support our fundraising and community-building efforts. This hands-on opportunity is perfect for someone passionate about the arts and nonprofit work, with strong writing and organizational skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Research individual donors, companies, and foundations

  • Draft letters of inquiry, solicitations, and acknowledgements

  • Write for newsletters, social media, and special projects

  • Assist with development planning and event support

  • Maintain databases, calendars, and mailing lists

  • Help with mass mailings and general administrative tasks

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Sheets

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • Interest in fundraising, storytelling, and making an impact through the arts

You’ll work directly with our Founder and Artistic Director, gaining real-world experience and making a meaningful contribution to our mission.

This position requires a commitment of 6–10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Most responsibilities can be completed remotely during regular business hours. While attendance at events is not required, there may be occasional opportunities to observe or assist with donor-facing activities if desired.

This is an unpaid volunteer position, though students may arrange to receive college credit through their institution.

  • Comfortable interacting with the public at events

  • Interest in arts marketing, public relations, and creative storytelling

You’ll work directly with our Founder and Artistic Director, gaining meaningful experience in nonprofit communications and media strategy.

This position involves a commitment of 6–10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be appreciated for key events and community programs.
